Signum Systems Introduces Low Cost, Full-Featured JTAG Emulator for TI C2000(TM) Digital Signal Controllers
At only $395, JTAGjet-TMS-C2000 Emulator Enables In-system Debugging on All TMS320C2000(TM) Controller Platforms
MOORPARK, Calif., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Lowering emulation costs for the industry's highest performance, control-optimized processors, Signum Systems has announced the immediate availability of their JTAGjet-TMS-C2000 emulator for the Texas Instruments (NYSE: TXN) (TI) TMS32C2000(TM) platform of digital signal controllers. Priced at $395, the USB-based JTAGjet offers a full- featured, palm-sized emulator with a variable JTAG clock that can be set as low as 1 kHz or up to 30 MHz to provide faster application downloads and quicker flash programming for TMS320F24x(TM) and F28x(TM) controller generations. JTAGjet employs emulation technology that allows faster downloads enabling developers to download large applications in seconds. For more information on Signum's JTAGjet for C2000 controllers, see http://www.signum.com/c2000.htm .
JTAGjet-TMS-C2000 is designed for customers debugging and emulating C2000 devices in their own, custom target boards for faster development and time to market. Fully compatible with version 3.1 or newer of TI's Code Composer Studio integrated development environment (CCStudio(TM) IDE), JTAGjet-TMS- C2000 installs directly into CCStudio directories, becomes visible in the setup utility and is preconfigured with a number of C2000 controller targets. Designers need only to drag and drop the preconfigured target and emulator configurations and start CCStudio to set up projects in JTAGjet-TMS-C2000.
"The new Signum JTAGjet emulator for C2000 controllers offers a cost effective solution for our customers looking at emulating with the industry's highest performance control optimized devices," said Andrew Soukup, TMS320C2000 world wide marketing manager, TI. "Leveraging their experience from working on TI's TMS320 family of DSPs, Signum has developed an emulator that will help reduce our customers their time to market and that is fully compatible with TI's own IDE, CCStudio."
JTAGjet-TMS comes with a detachable, active JTAG probe to accommodate long scan chains and various JTAG pinout standards and low voltages. The standard probe comes with a 14-pin compatible header and supports targets from 3V to 5V. A low voltage probe is available as option for targets between 1.4V and 4.5V.
"Signum's JTAGjet emulators are arguably the most cost effective means of boosting the productivity of C2000-based designs," said Jerry Lewandowski, CEO, Signum Systems. "This tool shortens time to market through technological advances and ease-of-use without the hefty price tag that comes with competing products. The JTAGjet emulator is a perfect illustration of Signum's philosophy of maximum power at minimum cost."
